Council has recently completed the development of a new town water supply bore and pumping station. The project was designed & constructed in-house at a cost of approximately $700,000.
The facility is comprised of a 300mm diameter 85 metre deep bore, fully equipped pumping station with emergency back-up generator, disinfection equipment and an aerator tower.
The site is generally controlled automatically on-site and via radio telemetry. Council's Water Operators oversight and maintain the operation.
The facility can deliver water at a rate of 60 litres per second into the town mains supply.
Council was successful in obtaining from the NSW Office of Water a 50% reimbursement of the construction cost.
