Staff moved to the new Library and Rural Transaction Centre and commenced operating in September 2004.

The Library Service was officially named the "WG Parker Memorial Library" in 1983, in honour of the late WG Parker. Cr Parker had played a significant role in the development of Local Government in Carrathool Shire and in the town of Hillston.
