Council Launches $1000 Australia Day Billboard Art Competition - Media Release

Carrathool Shire Council today launched their Australia Day Billboard Art Competition with a first prize of $1000. Entries are invited of works depicting the 2021 Australia Day’s key themes which are Respect, Reflect and Celebrate. All entries are to be submitted in a digital format online. The winning entry must be capable of being enlarged into billboard format 2.4 metres by 2.4 metres.

HILLSTON AERODROME WORKS

Wednesday 18 November 2020

Council wish to inform the general public that bitumen sealing works will be undertaken at the Hillston Aerodrome on Friday 20 November 2020.

The Aerodrome will be unavailable from 7am-12pm but open for emergency services.

STORM WATER MAINTENANCE - HILLSTON

Tuesday 17 November 2020
Starting today (17 November 2020) Council will be undertaking storm water maintenance works . This includes jet cleaning of the network as well as camera inspections for future maintenance planning.

PUBLIC NOTICE - DOWNER, UPCOMING SEALING WORKS

Council wish to advise that Downer EDI Works Pty Ltd will be commencing sealing works on the below roads.

Traffic control will be in place and road users may experience some delays. Council thanks road users for their patience.

This year Council will be participating with local businesses to conduct a Buy Local Campaign across the Shire to encourage residents to increase their local spend amongst the Shire’s businesses.

The campaign is in the promotional phase, with the period for eligible expenditure commencing on 16 November closing on 22 December 2020.

MAYS ROAD INTERSECTION - ROAD WORKS

Monday 2 November 2020

Council will be undertaking road construction on the Mays Road Intersection, Kidman Way.

(The mays Road Intersection is located around 6.5kms from the Springs Road Intersection, Hillston)

Work is scheduled to commence on Monday 2 November 2020 and is expected to take approx. 2 weeks.

MOSSGIEL ROAD - PAVE & SEAL

Monday 2 November 2020

Council will be undertaking a 1.5km section of road construction on the Mossgiel Road. Work is scheduled to commence on Monday 2 November 2020 and is expected to take approx. 6 weeks.

During this period drivers are asked to exercise caution when driving through the road work area and to be prepared for some minor delays.
